So my sister just showed me the schedule for Thursday at Comic-Con and already I have a dilemma: I must decide between Kevin Eastman or Disney;__; The Disney presentation is going to be in Hall H and Kevin Eastman is going to be in some other room that I can't remember. I mean, I know Disney probaly won't be revealing anything I haven't heard and that Hall H is going to be packed to the brim with Twihards because ZOMG! the cast from New Moon will be there. But still...it's DISNEY! Do I go to Hall H with the mouse or do I visit the man who is 1/2 of the team responsible for one of my first crazy fandoms? And I think the G.I. Joe panel is before that too;__;

In case you haven't seen Transformers 2, here is what you missed:
I really couldn't give a more accurate description of the film. :sigh: Transformers, I wanted to love you. At least you had Frank Welker as Soundwave this time. Even if he was wasted in space.

Really? I thought maybe he would have acquired the coveted code for Mother 64 or that mail plane game for the Vectrex or maybe the original D2 which would be cool because the M2 technology now only exists inside Russian ATMS. A championship game doesn't seem like it would hold that much worth inside the Illuminati of the gaming community, but I guess he's happy with his purchase.

It is dangerous for me to see a movie based off a franchise. After seeing Transformers Revenge of the Fallen I had to dig out my G1 boxset and have been watching a nonstop marathon in between reading articles on Transformers Wiki and looking at fan art. Same sort of event happened after watching the Star Trek film and even TMNT a couple of years ago. It's like fandom catharsis. I have a feeling I will be doing the same for Avatar when the movie comes out next year. The teaser trailer made me oddly excited for the film, but then I think of the casting and the director...
Saw a photo of Cobra Commander in the G.I. Joe movie. I tried to avoid it but it is hard to ignore these things with my job. He looks like Gary Oldman's character from the Fifth Element with an iron smashed on his face. It looks bizarre and not at all what I was expecting.

Yayness! Disneyland rocks. The weather was perfect and it wasn't crowded at all. I hoped my friend enjoyed her birthday:)
Hit all the rides and even managed to hop over to California Adventure. I had to ride the Tower of Terror by myself, but I took my Dug plushie with me. Ate at the Blue Bayou but sadly did not get seats right by the water. The sandwich I ordered there nearly gave me a heart attack. It was basically pig wrapped in butter fried in fat and topped off with powder sugar. My friends that monstrosity was named the Monte Cristo. Then we ordered a birthday cake which sadly didn't taste very good but atleast it came in a spiffy box.
Did some shopping there and bought a Dug plushie that talks (if you haven't seen Up yet please run and not walk to your local theater and see it NOW. Best movie of the summer) a Small World key chain and a Stitch coin.
Am still super tired.

And it was hilarious.
Going to Disneyland this weekend for my friends birthday. We actually managed to get reservations at the Blue Bayou this time which is fantastic.
Transformers opens up next week. Am so going to the midnite showing. Supposedly they are going to premier the Last Airbender trailer that night.
I am concerned.

I shouldn't find 1960's Shatner attractive. I shouldn't. I knew I had all the makings of a geek but I never thought that I would ever have anything to do with the Trek fandom. Then the new movie came out and my friend bought the original series which we have watched for like two days straight... >sigh< Someone stop me before I start heading to Trekkie conventions flashing Vulcan gang signs.

Okay, I wasn't expecting much when I went to go see Wolverine. I really wasn't. So in a way I can't say I was disappointed. The best analogy that my friends and I could come up with was that the movie was like foreplay without a climax. There was alot of eye candy (hello Liev Schreiber was HOT. I want Sabertooth the movie NOW) but little else. And Gambit and Deadpool were such a waste. They were simply there as a backdoor pilot. I just wish more had been done with the script. For instance, when Logan first turns into Wolverine he runs into the typical kindly old couple (there has to be a tv trope for that). This would have been the perfect opportunity to get him to try to understand his powers and find and who he is. However the chance was completely blown just to get to the next badly choreographed fight scene. It is a decent popcorn flick but after the credit sequence I was just left feeling sore and frustrated.
BUT I did get a Transformers trailer and all I can say is IT LOOKS AWESOME>
I apologize for my incoherent post, I didn't have any coffee today.

As Starscream had predicted, the eggs led Megatron right into his trap.
I think Megs is fighting a losing battle.

I missed the first three episodes of season three, but I did manage to watch one this past Saturday. "Five Servos of Doom" has to be one of my favourite episodes by far. Mainly because they finally delve into Prowl's backstory. Really though I love the "enemy mine" type of dynamic between Prowl and Lockdown (not to mention Lance Henrikson has a nice voice). Inevitably, Prowl and Lockdown will have their final fight in which one won't make it. Either way, it seems my favourite characters always meet their demise one way or the other. Can't I just have one that makes it?
Picked up the newest issue of Teen Titans which has the introduction of Static!!! Okay, so apparently my sister was the only one that clapped at the DC panel when Static was mentioned to appear in Teen Titans. If I would have been there I would have been excited too. I never read the original origin comics, but I loved the Static Shock cartoon. Too bad only one volume was ever released on DVD.
EDIT: I feel the need to out myself as a new Deviant. I tried to avoid it, I really did. But the pull of some amazing TFA fanart was too irresistable. I miss drawing :(

I am playing a cheerleading game and I love it. We Cheer does suffer a little from slooooow response time but other than that it is a blast.
By the way the remake for a Boy and His Blob looks breathtaking. Very Studio Ghibli inspired.

Astonishingly, it didn't take as long as I thought it would. After maybe one hour my sister was able to book a room online for Comic-Con and I was able to get in touch with someone on the phone for backup. The hotel is Victorian themed and located right next to Horton Plaza which means it is within walking distance of the convention center. Not only is the hotel cool looking and they have high tea on Saturdays but it is reputedly HAUNTED. I am more excited for this than anything else. It is highly unlikely there will be any paranormal activity but I will be taking much pictures of the hotel regardless. Now I just have to wait for tickets to go up for Video Games Live and I will be all set.
I have to work the TWILIGHT DVD OMG!EDWARDIZSOCOOL RELEASE tomorrow at midnight so that should be fun. Maybe.

I'm going to have to watch Boondock Saints tomorrow. I just realized I am in total need of a Lucky Sengoku icon.

I DO! Watchmen comes out tomorrow and I have tickets for a midnight showing. I am so excited. The funny thing is while some people have been waiting years and years for this movie to finally see a release I just started caring maybe like eight months ago. I am not going to lie that I waited in line for the Watchmen panel at Comic-con because Jeffrey Dean Morgan MIGHT have been there. I wasn't even sure if he was. However, the movie looks ten shades of awesome so I can't wait. Here's hoping there is going to be a trailer for the upcoming Transformers movie with it.
I have been playing this lately. The game's story is outstanding. Combat feels a little tacked on, I think it may have been better executed as a point and click, but other than that it rocks. Some of the most memorable moments happen when your character starts to loose their sanity. Not only do bizarre things start to happen for the onscreen character but the game developers even went so far as to put in a little suprises for the gamer (things like the game volume lowering, saying there is a system error or the controller doesn't work). To think this little gaming gem was released on the Gamecube of all systems.

Disneyland is over;__; I had a blast though. The weather was PERFECT and it wasn't crowded at all. I think we hit just about every ride that we wanted to and even went on some more than once. I want to say I will post pictures but I never get around to it. I suck. Anyway, I WILL post a picture of my Tiki Room bag I bought because WTF, TIKI ROOM! It is a limited purse, I think they made only about five hundred. It was between that and a sweatshirt I really wanted, but the Tiki Room purse had to pull the l-word on me.
Now it's back to work tomorrow. If only I could pull myself away from Echo Night.

I just love this time of year. Even now I still get that general excitement that comes from the beginning of December. The anticipation of waking up Christmas morning and seeing those shining packaged gifts. Running your hands over the wrapping paper and feeling the edges trying to decide by it's weight what gifts are hiding inside.
Seeing how the twenty fifth is still a ways to go, I can pass time by watching my favourite holiday movies. Which is why I ordered this:
http://www.amazon.com/Tmnt-Wish-You-Turtle-Christmas/dp/6303213421/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=video&qid=1228351454&sr=1-1
Okay so this isn't my favourite Christmas movie. And I still think the two dollars I paid for it is a hefty fee for submitting my brain to the visual onslaught that disguises itself as a VHS tape. It is hilariously bad. But now I feel my collection of holiday films is almost complete. I will nestle this one safely next to my copy of the He-man Christmas special (which has the DVD treatment).
Oh and the Twilight movie was....well it was Twilight. I have to see it again on Friday for a book club. Here's hoping I can keep my laughter at bay.

I was browsing through my old, old, journal entries (man, going through those is scary. I feel like those posts aren't even me) and I found this tasty little entry dated May 17th, 2004:
"Finally was able to sneak a a couple of hours away from studies to go see the Van Hellsing movie. That was probaly the most beautiful two hours I ever spent. Seriously. Did the movie have a riveting plot? Heavens no. But it had much guns and wank and that's all that matters. Besides, it had gunslinging!Hugh Jackman and really hot corsetwearing!Kate Beckinsale( can't wait for the next Underworld movie to come out, if not just to catch Kate in form fitting vinyl. Mreow). After the movie, I had the biggest urge to play(and suck at) Chaos Legions."
Well there's the evidence that apparently I was so blinded by Hugh Jackman's biceps that I didn't notice that Van Hellsing is like THE WORST MOVIE EVER. That was dated four years ago so I was still old enough to know better.
Oh my gosh, CHAOS LEGIONS! I bought that game thinking it would be a second Devil May Cry. I don't think I ever got past the second level. In fact, I think the save is still left on my memory card. I look at it sometimes when I am "cleansing" the memory card. I view it as I would an artifact representing a long forgotten civilization.

From Wiki (which never lies):
"Transformers is an upcoming theme park ride based on the films Transformers and Revenge of the Fallen. Construction begins after Labor Day and it will replace the Backdraft and the Special Effects Stages attractions at Universal Studios Hollywood. It will employ 3-D HD footage and animatronics.[1] The attraction is being designed by Universal Creative and is expected to open in 2010 at Universal Studios Singapore and 2011 at Universal Studios Hollywood."
Cool. I liked the Terminator attraction, so I don't think they can screw up Transformers.
